Ryan Tannehill and his 4-0 Tennessee Titan team mates celebrate the recent victory over undefeated Buffalo Bills 42-16. Aggies know Ryan to be a respected former student and dual threat for our team, both as wide-receiver and quarterback, class of 2011. From Big Spring High School, he walked on campus, donned jersey 17 and put fear in opponents as an outstanding receiver, switching to quarterback as a senior. Drafted number 8 in the first round of the NFL Draft of 2012 by Miami, Ryan was very successful up until an injury and then dealt to Tennessee as backup to Marcus Mariota. Mariota was injured in the first half of a game week six and Tannehill never looked back. Voted "Come Back Player of the Year" by the NFL in 2019, Ryan is the only Aggie quarterback listed on the active roster of any NFL team. What makes him special? He's a "BELIEVER" who includes a Bible verse with each of his signatures for fans: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." (Colossians 3:23) It hasn't been easy for Ryan, but since he does all glorifying God as his goal, it has worked out and I am certain God Smiles! Graduates could look for no better role model, donchaknow. It will be a pleasure to follow his leadership of his team.
And that's what I get from My Box of Chocolates right here in my corner studio under the shadow of Kyle Field.
