Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness were basics for all many years ago. The Prophet Isaiah wrote this in chapter 1:16-17:
"Wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight; stop doing wrong. Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow."
The words are a quote from God. The were addressed to our early ancestors who were afflicted with the very same 'disease' we have today. I was taught that "Cleanliness was next to Godliness" and even though I always believed this to be from scripture, it really isn't, but it certainly makes sense. God was speaking of a "clean heart"! He ordered people to stop sinning and it appears they were as proud of sin as we are today. Doing "right" doesn't come naturally, it must be taught. Today, it seems the teachers are so wrong, they are bad examples themselves. Our sense of "justice" is overshadowed by self-justification and we are so soaked up in the mistaken believe that we are oppressed, that we fail to even recognize other's problems. Our churches should be caring for the needy rather than our government. Where we are today is a morass of maliciousness and greed from top to bottom. What inspires immorality needs to champion, it is perfected within each of us. The stench of deceit has been around so long, we no longer notice it. So, go ahead, Pelosi. Open your mouth and spew forth garbage. And for the rest of us who listen to her and her ilk, Shame, SHAME!
And that's what I get from My Box of Chocolates right here in My Corner Studio under the shadow of Kyle Field.
