Anyone who has ever been involved in professional theater cringes at the mention of "Cattle Calls". We all experienced them, but the only times I was hired was out-of-the-blue. Living in Houston, there were many opportunities and they were attended by many hopeful actors. I stopped attending after half-a-dozen. It was happenstance that I was part of the Houston company of "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas".
I was doing over-nights at KODA-fm in Houston. We had just moved from Bolivar to south Houston, saving me that ferry trip each night. Just as the Cowboy/Steeler Super Bowl was beginning I got a call from one of the other guys working at KODA. He said to call Sydy Rojo. I knew her from a summer in Kerrville doing summer stock at the Point Theater. She was assistant stage manager of the up-and-coming production of ''The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas", Houston company opening at the Tower Theater. That show was to play 8-weeks, but ticket sales were longer than that and we played a year, then on the road to twenty-six cities, closing in honor of Dolly's movie in 1982 at the Desert Inn. That tour was a HOOT! We stayed on in Vegas and had a great run in radio, television, training films for the Diocese of Boston and leading worship at three churches over the next 23 years.
As I sit here in my little corner, it is obvious that my heart has always been here where God blessed me with a fine group of young people who in turn blessed those to whom the ministered. I have awards, trophies and great memories of wonderful moments, but none compare to SO Good1
And that's what I get from My Box of Chocolates right here in my little corner studio under the shadow of Kyle Field.
AMEN

I intended to include this from Romans yesterday:
"You see, at just the right tim, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrated his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ Died for us."
