A "First Gentleman"?

Are we ready for a "First Gentleman"?

I had a recent conversation with a young lady who feels that it is time for a woman to be President of the United States.  My first thought was, "Well, we thought it time to elect a black man to the office and look what that got us."  Then I had a second thought.  "It would appear that we have returned to that time today."  Somehow, I do not believe the founders of our democratic government intended for  the Oval Office to be occupied by anyone other than a man.  What??  Have I lost my everloving mind??  How politically "In"correct can a man be?

How dare me to utter such a thought!!   But, I do not believe we should ever lose sight of the fact that God created a man, first.  He felt that man needed a 'help-mate' and gave him Eve.  Scripture says, "A man is the spiritual head of the home" and we certainly need a double dose of true divine spirituality today!  I do not wish to sound disrespectful of any individual, but the fact is that the problems we face as a nation, have remained the same for our entire history.  It has to do with "Office Abuse".

There will never be a more complex gathering of individuals than the few who gathered to begin this nation over two hundred years ago.  It truly was a miracle of submission and compromise.  Scripture teaches that all who are placed in authority are chosen to do so by God, himself and we have had a most interesting mix of humankind, donchaknow, Really!  The President of the United States has always been a man and even though there are extremely capable women alive today,  I do believe the Office of President should always be held by a man, but who am I to say?   I also believe scripture and that will leave the issue up to God.  He has placed great women in high places already in the past, so, who knows? (Barbara Jordan comes to mind)

I'd best leave my corner studio before the roof caves in under impact of female ire. But,

that's what I get from My Box of Chocolates right here in my corner studio under the shadow of Kyle Field.

AMEN
