Each a Lighthouse

There is a lighthouse on Catalina Island, near the Navy shipyard.  I stood atop some years back and though of that scripture:  "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden." (Matthew 5:14)  Standing in the walk around that lighthouse, made me realize the importance of the structure. Doing a complete walk-around let's you see everywhere, unobstructed. You get the picture of what Jesus was telling his disciples. HE is the Light of the World and we as believers are infused with the Light of Truth, sharing by a walk of faith the Hope Eternal for a lost and dying world.   Each believer is given the privilege of priesthood.   Aggies study for a good reason and never question the course of study. We simply follow procedures, amassing credit hours resulting in a degree. class hours later we become "Former Students" of an elite University. We met the challenge and finished the course. We now have the necessary credentials to be successful.  What we do with all that knowledge is up to each individually.  As a Christian, I must adhere to the will of God or else my fruits will fall rotten from the tree.  I've not always done God's will and I have regrets, but too few to mention.  I am concerned that those regretful times have cause pain to others, but through it all, I have attempted to make amends here as I visit with you.  I am blessed to have this discourse and pray it is worthy. Career-wise, my light shone brightly.  I did the best job I could do there.  Other times carnality reared that ugly head and I fell.  God is Merciful and Gracious, donchaknow.  He ha forgiven me and upheld me and allowed me to be fruitful for nine decades.  I will rise above the detritus of this world, and, with His help, do the right thing.  I long to have these words said as I am prostrate before Him, "Well done, my good and faithful servant, you You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden." (Matthew 5:14) Standing in the walk around a lighthouse, you realize the importance of the structure. Thousands of hours later we become "Former Students" of an elite University. We met the challenge and finished the course. We now have the necessary credentials to be successful in business, but sometimes we failed to do so in God's business.  As a believer, that shouldn't be true any longer.  With Jesus in our hearts, everything is beautiful and right.  Our fruit is good to His taste. And, even when we stumbled, He is there to pick us up in forgiveness.  God's Mercy and Grace is sufficient for all of his priests to do His will.  Isn't is about time that those of us who call ourselves a "Child of the King", walk and talk His way?  It's never too late to begin anew.

And that's what I get from My Box of Chocolates right here in my corner studio under the shadow of Kyle Field.

AMEN
